What Pre-Roll Options Look Like at a Vancouver Dispensary

The pre-roll category has changed significantly since legalisation. In the early years it was mostly shake and trim rolled into standard papers. That is still available at the value end of the market and there is nothing wrong with it for everyday use. But the category now includes whole-flower pre-rolls, infused joints wrapped in concentrate or dusted in kief, hash holes, and large format products. The price range spans from around $3 for a value single to $20 or more for a premium infused joint.

We carry pre-rolls from both BC craft producers and larger national brands. The craft options tend to use more recognisable cultivars and list the specific strain on the package. The national brands are more consistent in their construction and burn, which matters for some people. Neither is automatically better. It depends on whether you are prioritising flavour and cultivar or consistency and value.

Infused Pre-Rolls

Infused pre-rolls are worth knowing about if you have not tried them. They are joints with concentrate added inside or on the exterior, which raises the THC content significantly and changes the burn profile. Common formats include live resin infused, hash-infused, and liquid diamond coated. They burn slower than a standard joint and hit considerably harder.
