Where can you buy weed in Vancouver?

Every legal weed store in BC holds a provincial cannabis retail licence and displays it. If a shop can't show you one, you're buying from the grey market, with no product testing and no way to know what's in the bag. Coastal Green Dunsmuir holds Licence No. 450550, and Coastal Green Main Street holds Licence No. 450151.

The province also runs its own BC Cannabis Stores. Private and government stores stock the same federally regulated products, so you can choose on location, price and the staff behind the counter.

Coastal Green Dunsmuir sits at 565 Dunsmuir St in the Financial District, between Seymour and Richards. From Granville SkyTrain Station you walk 92 metres, about two minutes. Coming from Burrard Station takes around eight minutes along Dunsmuir, on flat ground the whole way.

The store opens at 9AM and closes at 11PM every day, later than most cannabis shops downtown. Office workers stop in at lunch, and visitors come by after dinner in Gastown or Coal Harbour.

Coastal Green Main Street is at 208 E 16th Ave, with free parking in the lot behind the building. On transit, walk south from Main St–Science World Station for about 13 minutes, or from Olympic Village Station for about 16.

Licensed BC retailers can sell online as well. At Coastal Green you browse your chosen store's live menu, place the order and collect it in person. Staff check your ID at pickup, the same as a walk-in sale.

You need to be 19 or older, and you need government-issued photo ID even if you look well past 19. A passport, a Canadian driver's licence or a BC Services Card with photo all work. Staff can't accept a photo of your ID on your phone.

Both Vancouver stores take cash, debit and credit cards.

BC caps the amount an adult can carry in public at 30 grams of dried cannabis, or the equivalent in edibles, vapes and other forms. Stores apply the same 30-gram limit to a single purchase.
